2023. The year when the world witnessed increasing levels of oppression, injustice and suffering. However, through these extreme adversities shone beacons of resilience and hope. The call for humanity to rise against injustice grew ever more resounding. Amongst these catastrophic settings, Who is Hussain continued to be a sanctuary for those enduring the daily tides of affliction.

Following the tremendous achievements of 2022, the organisation entered this year in full force. The intensity of the last 12 months has in no way hindered or slowed down our global teams.

A turbulent few years have, unfortunately, ushered in more challenges for countless individuals and communities worldwide. With no end to the hardships, they face daily, Who is Hussain continually strives to be a beacon of hope for those suffering.

As we enter the organisation’s tenth year it continues to be eventful. Our teams are increasingly active in raising awareness of local issues, amidst restoring dignity to the most underserved. They never cease to embrace kindness and compassion, inspired by Hussain ibn Ali.

The tumultuous events of the previous year made way for an opportunity to restore much-needed hope. At Who is Hussain we did just that.

Sometimes facts can cloud the bigger picture. However, sometimes the true picture can only be presented through numbers. That is the story of Who is Hussain in 2021.

Undoubtedly, 2020 has been a challenging year for most, if not all. This report seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s activities for 2020, and to present our plans for the coming year.
